Dear West Dalhousie School (WDS) Families, 

We are excited about the start of the new school year and welcoming new and returning students to the school. Students in Grades 1-6 will begin school on Thursday, August 29. Students will meet their teachers at the assigned doors at 7:50 AM. Families will receive an email from their child’s teacher next week letting them know about their child’s classroom placement. See the photo below for where students will meet their teachers on the first day. 

Kindergarten students will begin with staggered entry for August 29 and 30. An email will be sent out on Monday with details regarding the staggered entry. The first full day of kindergarten will be Tuesday, September 3, doors open at 7:50 AM. 

Our school community are incredibly excited to be welcoming back students and continuing this year to provide new opportunities to reflect on our school values focused on the 3 Pillars of Care: Care For Yourself, Care For Others and Care For This Place.

Communication 

As our school year begins, each Friday afternoon we share out a weekly “Week at a Glance” message highlighting important information for students and families, and outlining important key dates. Each student will have a student agenda that they will bring home daily to share with you. 

We continue to look forward to working with our amazing community of staff, students, parents and guardians, ensuring that every learner achieves success, feels welcomed, cared for, respected, and safe within our school!
