Dear WDS Families,

This week, we celebrated two special events: our Muffin Mixer and the Terry Fox Run and Assembly. A heartfelt thank you to our School Council and the many parent volunteers who helped make the Muffin Mixer such a warm and welcoming success.

We are excited to announce that WDS families and staff have raised $1271 for the Terry Fox Foundation. All proceeds will go to support cancer research in Canada. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Palichuk, our students, dedicated staff, and supportive parent volunteers for supporting our Terry Fox event.

The Calgary Flames Foundation will be completing a sports residency at WDS from September 22-26. For this residency, trained instructors visit schools to teach about and play floor hockey and flag football with students in a physical education setting over a three or four-day period. The primary goal is to foster a love for sports, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. To show our support for this organization we are asking students and staff to wear red or Calgary Flames clothing to school during this residency.
