Dear WDS Families,
We are happy to see all the students at school this week. We also enjoyed celebrating Halloween with them on Friday. A reminder that November 2 clocks fall back 1 hour.
Traffic Safety
A reminder to all parents that U-turns are not permitted in school zones, and that U-turns create unsafe conditions for all students and their families. Parents are reminded that they cannot use the staff parking lot to drop off or pick up students.
Dressing for the Weather
This coming week we will be experiencing more seasonal weather with cooler temperatures. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately and prepared to be outside for recess and lunch break.
Remembrance Day
November 11th marks an important day for us to remember and honor all of those people who have served and are currently serving in our military. WDS will honor this day on November 7. Students who are in Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, Guides, Cadets, etc. are encouraged to wear their uniforms on this day. Please note that this event is for students and staff only due to limited time to plan this event.
Learning Conferences
We have our Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences on November 27 and November 28. Families will sign up for a 15-minute block of time to meet with their child’s teacher and learn more about their child’s learning progress. To book a conference time go to My CBE Power School Conference Booking System. This opens on Thursday, November 20 at 8:00 am.
