Dear WDS Families,
This week, the Grade 1/2 students and teachers hosted an assembly about kindness that showcased students' writing and music talents. They created class anthologies that were comprised of a collection of the students’ written work. This is tied into WDS recognizing Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday. Thank you to all the parents/guardians who attended this event. Thank you to all the students and teachers who made this event such a huge success. The focus of this day was to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging! This week, we also had Healthy Hunger Kernels popcorn. Thanks to our parent volunteer who distributed the popcorn to each classroom.

Alberta Education Assurance Survey
Every year, Alberta Education conducts its annual survey of grade 4, 7, and 10 students and their parents or guardians. This survey will gather essential information about students’ and parents’ school experiences. Parents or guardians of grade 4 students should have received an email from School Improvement containing a link to the survey, along with a unique Random-Access Code and detailed instructions. We strongly encourage all eligible parents and guardians to participate and share their feedback on their children’s education. If you require a paper survey or one in another language, such as Ukrainian, Punjabi, Cree, Korean, Denesųłįné, Tagalog, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, or Urdu, please reach out to the school via email or phone. Please ensure that you complete the survey by March 21, 2025.
