Dear WDS Families,

This week we continued with the Clay for Kids residency. Thank you to all the volunteers who were able to come and support our students in creating their art pieces. We also celebrated Valentine's Day on February 12 and focused on the theme of friendship and kindness. A reminder to families that there is no school on Feb 13, 14, or 17. Classes resume on Feb. 18.

School Council Meeting, Feb. 20

The next school council meeting will take place on Feb. 20 on Microsoft Teams. During this meeting, we will be asking parents/guardians to Share Your Voice Regarding School Planning. We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. This is why we will be sharing information about school planning and asking you to share your perspectives. You are invited to participate in our survey on February 20 at 7:00 pm. There will be an opportunity to provide feedback at this meeting about school planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget, and school fees. Pink Shirt Day, Feb. 26

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, wear a pink shirt to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging! Pink Shirt Day began in 2007 when a student in Nova Scotia was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. It has since been recognized annually worldwide as a day to stand against bullying.
